Event Highlights

We learnt, shared, met new friends....

What Happened at Our Workshop šŸš€

I’m so excited to share highlights from our Money & Confidence Skills for Life workshop held on February 15th! It was a day filled with learning, sharing, and meeting new people. I'm proud of everyone who showed up and took that step toward better financial futures!

What’s even more amazing? Within just 5 days of sharing the event details, so many of you signed up and got involved. From sharing the flyer to hosting the event, everything came together in just 10 days—and the energy was awesome!

The workshop brought together a wonderful mix of young adults, teens, parents, and grandparents, all coming together to break down financial barriers and build skills we weren’t taught in school. The most special part was the intergenerational learning.

Watching participants from all walks of life connect, share experiences, and learn from each other was incredibly empowering. It was a great reminder that financial literacyand learning has no age boundaries.

We covered so many important topics, including:

  • Recognizing Your Value – Understanding your personal worth

  • The Value of Challenges – How life’s challenges don’t impact your value

  • First Impressions – Confidence in body language, handshakes, and introductions

  • The Importance of Self-Presentation – Role Plays & Practical Exercises

  • The 4 Ways to Earn Legally (No Matter where you are around the World)

  • The 4 Ways We Spend Money (No Matter where you are around the World)

  • ā€œEarn, Save, Spendā€ vs. ā€œEarn, Spend, Saveā€ Approaches

  • Infinite vs. Finite Resources – Learning to identify them and plan accordingly

...and so much more! Everyone walked away with practical tips to implement, no matter their age.

A big thank you to the YWCA for providing the space and for their continued commitment to hosting empowerment events like this. Participants also had the chance to experience the In Her Shoes exhibition at the YWCA, adding even more value to the day.

What This Experience Taught Me…

This workshop really reinforced the power of pursuing a dream and the power of collaboration. I’ve hosted plenty of workshops before, but this one felt different—it all came together so quickly, almost like it was meant to be. All of this happened because of our shared passion for helping the community, with no outside funding from sponsors. The engine room? That was just Natalie (Rocke), with her love for elegance and etiquette, and me, my own love for financial planning and education—together, we made it happen.

I’m also grateful for the incredible support that made it all possible. A huge thanks to Michelle Sampson for offering a 50% discount on printing materials and for providing discount coupons for every participant for her cell phone and accessories business - MC Cellular located on Frederick Street in Curepe.

Special thanks to Leah and Indira for helping with the setup the day before, and Jenny for bringing beautiful plants to brighten the space. Also, thanks to all the participants who chipped in whether to stuff croissants, share handouts or collect evaluation forms on the day.

What I’m Most Excited About…

Everyone who attended showed that no matter where we start, we all have the potential to grow and transform our futures. But the journey doesn’t stop there!

The second part of ourMoney & Confidence Skills for Life workshop is coming up on March 29th, 2025 at the YWCA again at no cost to participants. It promises to share even more insights we missed in schools and universities.

This experience has proven that with the right tools, support, and mindset, anything is possible. I truly acknowledge God for His guidance and blessings throughout this journey, and I’m excited to continue helping others on their path to empowerment.

P.S. If you know me well, you know I’m always on the move—like an Energizer Bunny! I’m putting together a small group of busy professionals who are earning a decent income but still feel like they’re living paycheck to paycheck, unsure how to break the cycle and get ahead.

Let’s be real—schools never taught us essential money skills, and many life lessons were skipped. That’s why Natalie and I teamed up to host the Free Money & Confidence Skills for Life workshop.

Now, the next programmeis online and it is all about helping professionals uncover the hidden money they might be leaving on the table—simply because of what they don’t know or may have overlooked. Using practical resources, tools, and templates, I’ll help you create a plan to unlock an extra $1,000–$1,500 in disposable income over the next 30 days—without working extra hours, sacrificing your lifestyle, or making any drastic (or illegal šŸ˜†) changes.

The best part? You can go at your own pace and schedule. The next group starts the first Sunday of the Month online or anytime during that week at your convenience.

We are making it easy for people to get started if you sign up now or within the next 5 days. No payments are required right now!
